Just 20 minutes from the park’s West Entrance, which sits in Grand Lake, Colo., lies River Run Resort, a new 200-acre resort with unparalleled amenities for the area.

There’s actually so much to do on property that it may be hard to leave it. There’s paddleboarding, dropping a fishing line into the headwaters of the Colorado River, swimming in a pool, soaking in hot tubs and lacing up at the mini-bowling alley. There’s also a putting green, yoga lawn, fitness center and basketball courts. When you’ve worked up an appetite, you can stroll to The Summit Bar & Grill and Headwaters Tavern, perfect places to enjoy a meal, grab a drink and relax.

Offering more lodging options than any other property in the area, the resort has vacation home rentals, Airstreams, Conestoga wagons and yurts. For those who prefer camping under the stars, you can pull up to a tent or RV site. There’s something for everyone, no matter how adventurous you are or what your budget is.

“Our cabins, Conestoga wagons, Adventure Tents, Airstreams, and yurts offer a unique way to elevate the experience of outdoor camping,” says Caitlyn Twilley, regional marketing manager of Sun RV Resorts, the company that runs River Run Resort. “These units accommodate between 2-6 guests, and most are pet-friendly so you can bring your furry four-legged family members.”

Plus, all come with beds and home furnishings, WiFi, a picnic table and fire pit. Most include the convenience of private kitchens and bathrooms. If there is no bathroom in the unit, there are common bathroom areas close by. And the tent sites? They also include WiFi, plus a picnic table and a fire pit. All tent sites are pet-friendly.

The property is a short complimentary shuttle ride from the small downtown of Granby, Colo., and 25 minutes from Winter Park, Colo. It’s located at the intersection of Hwy. 40 and Hwy. 34.

And if you enjoyed your stay a ton and want to spend more time in the area, River Run Resort sells three different models of villas that vary in number of bedrooms and layout.
