Soak Riverside at Iron Mountain Hot Springs

Spend the day relaxing along the banks of the Colorado River

Colorado is known for its array of natural hot springs scattered throughout the state. The newest of these natural wonders is Iron Mountain Hot Springs, conveniently located through magnificent Glenwood Canyon and along I-70 in historic Glenwood Springs.

First discovered by the native Americans who inhabited the area as their summer hunting grounds, the waters of Iron Mountain Hot Springs were considered to have healing and curative powers.

Spend the day relaxing along the banks of the Colorado River, soaking in the 100 percent pure, iron-rich thermal mineral waters while taking in incredible views of towering Mt. Sopris and the surrounding red sandstone hills flanking the Colorado River valley.

Iron Mountain Hot Springs features 16 small, naturally shaped pools that range from 99 to 108 degrees. A quiet zone, surrounds the area to provide a soothing environment where you can relax, restore and rejuvenate in our naturally filtered, chemical-free soaking pools. There is also a larger, freshwater family pool for all ages that is maintained at around 94 degrees. It has an elevated whirlpool kept at about 104 degrees where parents can relax while watching their kids play. Refresh between soaking pools under the cooling showers of the “Rejuvenation Station.”

The modern bathhouse has beautifully appointed locker rooms and showers, along with a retail shop offering swimwear and accessories, along with specialty gifts, many of which are made right here in Colorado. The Sopris Café serves breakfast, sandwiches, flatbread pizza, snacks, plus hot and cold beverages including beer, wine and cocktails. Outside by the pools, the Sandbar offers a variety of refreshments for the adults.

Located just a short distance from seven world-class resorts, Iron Mountain Hot Springs is the perfect complement to a day of activity in Colorado’s great outdoors any time of year. You can even combine a trip to both Iron Mountain and Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park located just up the street, for a day full of fun and relaxation.

Iron Mountain Hot Springs is open year round from 9 a.m.-10 p.m. daily, with seasonal pricing for adults and kids. At this time, to provide comfortable distancing for guests, Iron Mountain will be limiting capacity with scheduled 2.5 hour time slots.
