Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park

No trip to the Glenwood Springs area is complete without a trip to Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, the region’s must-see attraction where you’ll find a host of activities for kids of all ages along with amazing educational activities. Its slogan is “Where Nature Meets Adventure!” for good reason.

The park is home to the amazing Glenwood Caverns and Historic Fairy Caves, a natural wonder, millions of years in the making and recognized by USA Today, both as one of the country’s Top 10 Places to Go Underground as well as one of the Top 10 Family Cave Tours.

There are two different 40-minute tours that take you deep into the heart of Iron Mountain where it’s a comfortable 52 degrees all year long. The Caverns are home to the largest “show cave” in the state, with an amazing array of formations, including stalactites, stalagmites, soda straws, cave bacon and flowstone. Both tours are suitable for kids and no reservations are necessary.

Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park is also America’s only mountaintop theme park. Experience thrill rides that will take your breath away like one of the state’s longest alpine coaster and other one-of-a-kind rides include the nation’s highest elevation roller coaster and the Giant Canyon Swing, perched on the very edge of Glenwood Canyon more than 1,300 feet above the Colorado River.

Kids love the state-of-the-art laser tag arena, the kid’s coaster, a Ferris wheel and Colorado’s first 4D motion theater, along with a selection of other family-friendly attractions like a climbing wall, gemstone mining, live music and more. The mountaintop Lookout Grille serves up great food and even better views from the decks.
