Choose the west entrance from Fruita (at the north edge of the park), or the east entrance from Grand Junction (at the south edge of the park) to access campgrounds, public restrooms and picnic areas off the main road. Each of 19 signed viewpoints and 14 trailheads are noted on the map. Many of the viewpoints are accessible.

Outside of the park on the northeast side flows the Colorado River with recreation opportunities all its own.
